All Exploring Happiness

How to find happiness in a f#%k’ed up world?

To let you know, this blog is commercialized – If you want to learn how to make money from blogging, then signup for our newsletter in the bottom of this post, and I’ll send you a mini booklet with 5 ways to make money from blogging.

Most of us walk around in this world without any idea of where we are going, we get raised learning to trust in society, trust our teachers, our parents, and later on our bosses.

We are taught not to question the system too much, we learn that it’s ok to somewhat question authority, but never the system, the system is fine the way it is, it’s the leaders, the politicians, the banks and the big businesses that are the problem, not the system, never the system….

What this thinking does to us, is making us believe in the narrative, that a career in some industry is the ultimate goal of life, we blindly follow the path that has been laid before us, and feel indebted to society.

We get an education to get the right job, we make money to get the right car, we borrow money to get the right house and we get children to raise them into the same thinking that we have. Nobody questions this system, it’s the only way we know.

When introduced to someone new, the more “important” question is where do you live, where do you work, sometimes even how much money do you make. Why doesn’t anybody ask the real questions in life:

Are you happy?

How are you feeling?

How is your family doing?

Are your children happy?

What are your dreams for the future?

But how do we get away from the old challenging way of life? We are long past the state where we have to worry about food on the table, the world is now so rich and efficient that we can allow ourselves to take a couple of steps up Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and start realizing ourselves, figure out what we truly desire and dream of… And then go get it!

The thing is, that even though the world is a crazy place, with lot’s of bad things happening all the time, there is still so much goodness out there.

The world is full of amazing experiences, it’s entirely up to the individual to chose when to begin being happy and filling their lives with the stuff that matters to them.

So where do you begin, you might ask at this point. Well, to keep it simple let us put it into 3 steps:

Step 1 – Begin writing down the things that make you happy, all of it, even the weird stuff, like hugging a tree (if you’re into that new age hippie stuff). Write it all down – Spending time with friends, meaningful relationships, time with the family, luxury food, great coffee, nature, the sea, traveling, a great base or the freedom to move around, sex, hobbies, saving the world and so on.

Once you have a clear idea about what makes you happy, then you can start arranging them in different categories, like ‘work’, ‘family’, ‘relationships’, ‘travel’, if you can’t find a category that fits, then make one up, it’s your life and there might be more you like that fits that very same category.

Step 2 – Start planning all these things into your daily life, it is actually pretty simple if you think about it, and if your job makes you unhappy, then quit it, and get a new one, a job that contains some of the stuff that makes you happy.

If you doubt if you can afford some of the things, then calculate the cost, the time needed to do it and see how bad it is, do you need to re-prioritize some of your current life choices.

Step 3 – Now this is all fine and easy to say, all seems very simple, but to be honest, it is actually quite hard to do in real life, it requires you to do something you might haven’t done in a while, it requires you to change. There is an old saying that goes like this: “Change is scary, but you know what’s even scarier? Regret….”

The world is a weird place, but it is so full of opportunity for the ones who seek it out. We often, maybe because of the people we are surrounded by, think that a certain something is simply not achievable to us, or that it only happens to some very special people that we don’t know and will never meet.

THIS IS NOT TRUE! Every single one of us can achieve something great, make a change and even live a truly fulfilled and happy life, full of the things we love the most – The only thing needed is the courage to seek it out and go for it.

So step 3 is: Find your courage, go do all the things that makes you happy, think happy thoughts and live your life on your own terms, not the way most of the world tells you it’s supposed to be – As already stated, there is enough joy and happiness out there in this big world, it’s waiting for you to come and take it.

Step 3 is the hardest, but once you find that courage there’s no looking back 😀

Yes, number three is the one where it gets real all of a sudden, the one where you need to push through!
